FAQs
Q: Why is this offer available?
A: This offer is through a partnership between the Police Credit Union and the Police Welfare Fund – sister organisations working together to support the wellbeing of our members.
By combining a PCU car loan with car insurance through the PWF, we’re making it easier and more affordable to get on the road with confidence.
Q: Am I guaranteed 2 months' free car insurance if I'm a PWF member and my car loan is approved with PCU?
A: The Police Credit Union can't guarantee you will be eligible for the 2 months free insurance. For instance, the car you purchase may not meet underwriting criteria.
To be eligible for the 2 months' free car insurance, you will need to meet all Police Welfare Fund normal eligibility, acceptance and underwriting criteria.
Examples of factors that may affect your eligibility include:
- Age of driver
- Make and model of vehicle
- Driver history
When you request a quote, the PWF will let you know if any of these apply.
Q: Can I take up this offer if I already have car insurance with PWF?
A: This offer is for new car insurance policies taken out with the Police Welfare Fund, along with a PCU car loan. Existing policies or renewals are not eligible.
Q: How will the 2 months' free insurance show on my insurance statement?
A: It will show as a deduction for your car insurance premium and then as a credit. Your insurance documents will show the full premium.
Note: Due to timing, your first insurance premium may be deducted and not receive a credit. If this happens, your following two months of premiums will be free.
Q: How long is this offer available?
A: This is a limited-time offer and may be withdrawn at any time – so if you're thinking about a new car, it's a good idea to get started soon!
