Tips to protect yourself from fraud and scams

While we have a bunch of ways we protect your money from fraudsters, there are steps you should also take to reduce the likelihood that your personal data is compromised.


🔄️ Keep your devices updated

When you see an alert to update your phone, tablet, laptop, or computer, install it as soon as possible.


🔐 Use different passwords on everything

It may seem easier to use the same password across different accounts, but doing this opens you up to risk if your password is compromised.

If you create a password and Google asks if you want to save it… don’t!


👾Install antivirus software and scan regularly

Antivirus software can help protect you against viruses, ransomware, and malware. Research the right antivirus software for you, and be careful downloading free software, as it may be fake.

Once your antivirus software is installed, make sure to run it often to keep it up to date.

Always verify the legitimacy of any financial entity or website before sharing personal information.
